    Job Summary: Provides direct patient care to neonate through geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment plan of care. Communicates with Surgeon and Anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about patient condition. Maintains surgical standards and acts as a patient safety advocate.
    Responsibilities:
    • Practice the philosophy, policies, procedures, and quality standards of the Operating Room according to the mission, vision, and values of Saint James Mercy Hospital.
    • Perform daily duties and complete in a timely manner in all services including, but not limited to: General surgery, Orthopedics, Vascular, ENT, Ophthalmology, Urology, Endoscopy, GYN.
    • Verifies all information pertaining to patient and procedure before the cases and brings any discrepancies to the attention of the Surgeon and Anesthesiologist.
    • Promote quality communication between team members
    • Follows all surgical standards, universal precautions, and departmental procedures for pre-op, intra-op, and post-op patient care.
    • Assure infection control standards are met through the use of precautions and septic technique.

    Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant jobs, Hornell, NY

    Job Qualifications Emergency Department: 2 Full time positions available – 12 hours shifts 8pm -8am. Provide critical care to patients who visit the emergency department. Patients require evaluation, intervention, and disposition. Excellent communication and teamwork required. Must be able to function as a solo provider. Will require emergency skills such as intubation, central line insertion, managing AMI, etc. Option to pick up extra shifts in our walk in clinic (Express Care) 10am-8pm.
    Job Qualifications Express Care (Walk-In Clinic): Full time position avaliable operates 10am-8pm. Provide care for patients in an express care level. Work collaboratively with Emergency Physician and nursing staff. Patients require evaluation, intervention, and disposition. Excellent communication skills and teamwork required. Must be able to function as a solo provider.
    Requirements: At least 1 year experience preferred. New York State Licensure as an NP, National certification within 6 months or NYS licensure ad Board Certified as a PA.

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) /Clinical Support Tech
    Job Summary: Assists with general patient care, data collection, documentation, application of monitoring devices, communicates patient data to nurse, stocks necessary equipment and supplies in patient rooms. The employee will demonstrate knowledge in the current concepts of his/her field and is responsible for providing quality service to patients and families.
    Accurate and Timely Patient Care
    • Assists in and accompanies patients in the admission, transfer and discharge procedures.
    • Assists Staff Registered Nurse in complicated treatment procedures as requested.
    • Provides patient with accurate and timely personal care, taking and recording vital signs and taking and recording temperatures, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood pressure, pulse oximetry and intake/output measurements as delegated by Staff Registered Nurse.

    Job Summary: Follows Laboratory and Hospital Infection Control policies, observes all standards of laboratory and hospital safety including those dealing with hazardous materials, observes strict adherence to all policies dealing with confidentiality and works within established guidelines for technical reporting. Participation in Laboratory Quality Management System to ensure that the right result at the right time, on the right specimen, from the correct patient, is resulted to the correct provider with a written/electronic report that can be interpreted with the correct reference data. Participates in the implementation and development of monitors for the lab’s QMS program and participates in the monitoring of the lab’s QM. Staff participation in the Hospital’s Performance Improvement program, competency and continuing education programs is expected of all staff with respect to job duties and areas of training. Responsible for understanding and adherence to the Code of Conduct, and the Corporate Compliance Plan (CCP) at St. James Mercy Hospital. Participates in all educational requirements related to Corporate Compliance as required by the CCP Education Plan. Must maintain current NYSDOH license and any associated education requirements for licensure. The role of the Laboratory Manager is to direct and coordinate activities of the Laboratory to provide high quality service. The Laboratory Manager is responsible for financial, technical, accreditation and licensure programs. This position also includes membership in hospital management teams and committees. Will be available as needed off hours.

    Job Summary: Performs CT Exams as requested by referring clinicians. Contributes to the efficient operation of the department. One must be familiar with CT and also be able to perform the job fuctions in x-ray.

  • Radiologic Technologist/Computed Tomography Technologist
    Job Responsibilities: Performs radiological examinations as requested by referring clinicians. Operates X-Ray equipment, prepares examination room, equipment, supplies, and contrast media as needed. Also provides patient services using imaging modalities.

  • Radiologic Technologist

  • Ultrasonographer
    Responsibilities
    • Performs all ultrasound examinations as requested by the referring physicians.
    • Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
    • Selects and operates equipment as directed.
    • Assists physician with invasive procedures (cyst punctures, needle biopsies, and amniocentesis) by preparing the room (set up the tray) and the patient and the using of the equipment.
    • Lifts, moves and transports patients via wheelchair or cart.
    • Maintains records of examination data and other pertinent information on patients.
    • Secures and returns supplies (film, linen, medicine, patient folders, etc.)
    • Consults with other to obtain a complete clinical history; gathers pertinent clinical data.
    • Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
    • Transports patients when necessary.
    • Takes "call" as scheduled.
    • Supervises student technologists in the clinical area.
    • Attends educational programs as interest and availability allow (30 CEU/3 year are required to maintain registries)

    Job Summary: To facilitate the patient’ s hospitalization from pre-admission through discharge by assessing each patient for discharge needs and coordinating services to meet those needs. Perform utilization reviews in accordance with established Hospital UR Plan.

  • Food Service Worker
    Job Summary: A Food Service Worker will assist in the preparation, serving, and delivery of food to patient, employee and resident areas. This individual may serve in the cafeteria; have cashier responsibilities, and/or dish room and utility duties. Individuals may also assist in catering functions.

  • Housekeeper
    Job Summary: Will clean areas such as offices, departments, corridors, waiting areas, stairwells, elevators as well as patient rooms and treatment areas. Will handle and properly dispose of waste.
