Mary E. LaRowe, FACHE, joined St. James Mercy Health System as President and CEO in January 2007. Previously she served as President of the Western New York Healthcare Association and Executive Vice President of the Healthcare Association of New York State. Ms. LaRowe also served as President and CEO of Westfield Memorial Hospital in Westfield, New York and as a member of the senior leadership team of St. Vincent Health System in Erie, PA.
Ms. LaRowe has over 20 years experience in healthcare management, including nursing leadership. Prior to the CEO position at Westfield, she was Senior Vice President of United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia, New York (the merged organization of Genesee Memorial Hospital and St. Jerome Hospital). Prior to the merger, she served as Senior Vice President of Genesee Memorial Hospital. Additionally, Ms. LaRowe has been a Health Care Surveyor for the New York State Department of Health.
Ms. LaRowe has a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a Master’s in Business Administration. She is board certified in health care administration through the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), gained Fellowship status, the organization’s highest honor, and served as ACHE Regent for the New York-Hudson/Allegheny Region.
Ms. LaRowe has been a member of numerous boards of directors of community and professional organizations and currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors (Executive Committee) for the Rochester Regional Healthcare Association, United Way of the Southern Tier, and the Western New York Rural Area Health Education Center.
