Cancer Services Program »
The Cancer Services Program of Steuben County provides breast, cervical and colorectal cancer screening who are uninsured or underinsured.

Cardiac Rehabilitation »
A multidisciplinary program involving physicians, therapists, dieticians, and family support for inpatient and outpatient cardiac rehabilitation.

Hospitalists are physicians who specialize in caring for patients in the hospital, available 24/7.

Inpatient laboratory services and pathologist are available 24/7. The laboratory also offer patients, scheduled for elective surgery, autologous blood donation collection. As a community service, drug screen collection services are available.

Long-Term and Chronic Care »
Comprehensive long term care includes 24/7 nursing home residents, outpatients, and adult day care.

    Newly renovated accommodates 120 residents including ventilator dependency to dialysis, Alzheimer’s/dementia, and short term rehabilitation.

    Mercycare Break is an adult day services program that provides medical and personal attention, physical therapy, and a stimulating social environment. Adults maintain dignity and independence while you have time to care for yourself and the rest of your family.

  • The Gathering Place »
    Social Adult Day Care is a program aimed at elderly or disabled adults who do not require ongoing intensive medical care but are in need of additional supportive services and supervision.

  • Lifeline Emergency Response System »
    St. James Mercy Health provides a telephone-based emergency response system called LIFELINE for those who are elderly, medically frail or who live alone.

  Maternity & Women’s Health »
Comprehensive women’s health services include prenatal programs, a maternal unit and birthing center, mammography, and gynecology/laparoscopy.

Nutrition therapy counseling is available for everyone in the community with a physician’s order by a registered dietician.

Occupational Therapy »
The occupational therapist not only provides direct therapeutic interventions, but also serves as a resource for interdisciplinary team members, caregivers, family members, and patients to promote maximum functional independence.

Orthopedic Services »

Physical Therapy »
Physical therapy is available to restore strength, mobility and function in individuals who have experienced a disability, illness, injury or surgery with the goal of return to prior home, work and leisure activities.

Psychiatric Care »
Adolescent and adult psychiatric units, Aquinas Day Treatment, and Mercycare Addiction Treatment Center MATCH.

Respiratory Therapy »
Respiratory therapy offers a variety of services that range from pulmonary function testing to ventilator management and nebulizer/MDI treatments.

Sleep Disorders »
SJMH is the only accredited sleep lab in the region and is fully equipped to diagnose and treat many types of sleep disorders.

Speech Therapy »
In addition to speech therapy services, a modified barium swallow study is now available to assist with treatment.

Spiritual Care »
The Spiritual Care Department offers services to meet the spiritual and emotional needs of patients and residents, clients, families, and staff. In addition to weekly reflection groups, chapels and the prayer room, McAuley worship services, and monthly grief support groups, chaplins are also available.

Stress Tests »
St. James Mercy Hospital performs the following types of Cardiac Stress tests: exercise stress echo test, dobutamine stress echo test, nuclear exercise stress test, and nuclear adenosine stress test.
